I finally have it. The Necronomocon itself. Just bought it not over 3 hours ago and I am getting excited to read it.
But yet again, I am a little afraid.
I need to ask you all, what do you think? How should I be doing this?
Do you think I should just read it in the early mornings when there is light and sunshine, when there is music and other people around? Or should I be completely alone in the dark and read by candle light?
Im looking for your guy's ideas. Does it even matter how I read the book? In long sittings or just a little bit at a time? What do I do?
Like I said, I am scared here. I am worried I may actually provoke something, something powerful or dangerous. Or is it all fake and if I really don't believe anything will happen, nothing will.
I plan on reading it tomorrow night after I hear some comments, so Please! Talk to me!

I would probably read it in the day. And I am laughing at mac-and-me right now, that was a good one :D
I doubt it will summon anything. I enjoy going to "haunted houses" with believers and provoking the spirits. nothing has ever happened to me.
you have to read it late at night with a soundtrack switching between emo metal and death metal. That'll freak you out the most. Nothing else will happen though. It's just a mass produced corporate consumer product.
Nothing to fear. I have an online PDF version of the book that I got for free. The book is creepy in the sense that you can get creeped if you picture yourself invoking "demons" or "evil spirits" but honestly, at most you will go to far to exhaustion and then your mind shall begin to play tricks. nothing to fear.

its a pretty cool story but the necronomicon does not explain WHY its rituals and invocations work.
the necronomicon is a fictional tome. but its rituals, if practiced correctly, can grant results.
also, dont worry the worst that can happen is getting a bit of bad luck for malpractice of your ritual.
i can give you some further advice that i think you should know if you want to be safe and strong in the occult world.
